The Earth Still Gives
More than ever today, I feel the shift into Autumn as the temperature struggles against the fog to give us an Indian summer day. A mockingbird and his fantastic, hours-long repertoire took perch today on abutting lightining rod and ran on and on- with a shocking diversity of sounds. On both sides of me the neighbors have ripe, sweet tomato harvests and one rampant plant grows in our yard- a renegade seed or intentionally planted by the owners of this property? These gorgeous Helios-kissed fruits bring me hope and wonder in their simple beauty.
